What Is EXPAREL®?
EXPAREL® is an extended-release form of bupivacaine, a local anesthetic commonly used in dentistry and medicine. Unlike standard local anesthetics that wear off quickly, EXPAREL can offer extended pain relief during the early recovery period, when most patients experience the greatest soreness, swelling, and discomfort.
EXPAREL® (bupivacaine liposome injectable suspension) is administered directly into the surgical site during your procedure. It is slowly released over several days, providing targeted, long-lasting pain control when you need it most. Patients who receive EXPAREL are less likely to require additional pain medications, including opioids, during recovery.
